Product FAQs:
What is the load capacity per shelf?
Each shelf can hold up to 160kg UDL (Uniformly Distributed Load), meaning the weight must be evenly spread across the shelf. This makes the unit ideal for storing a variety of items, from small parts to medium-sized tools and equipment.
Is the shelving unit adjustable?
Yes, the shelves are fully adjustable in 50mm increments, giving you the flexibility to customise the layout to suit items of different heights. This feature makes the shelving adaptable for evolving storage needs, whether you're dealing with fluctuating inventory or irregularly shaped products.
Does it require special tools for assembly?
No, the Toprax shelving unit features a bolt-free design, making assembly simple and efficient. It comes with clear instructions, and you only need basic tools like a rubber mallet to tap the components together, saving time and effort.
Can the shelving unit be extended?
Yes, the system is designed to be modular. You can easily add additional bays to expand your storage capacity as your business or storage needs grow. This flexibility is ideal for dynamic environments such as warehouses and workshops.
What materials and finishes are used?
The shelving unit is built for durability and a clean appearance:
- Uprights: Coated with a tough epoxy powder in blue for long-lasting protection.
- Beams and ties: Finished with an epoxy powder-coated silver/grey for enhanced durability and aesthetics.
- Shelves: Galvanised steel, providing a rust-resistant, clean, and robust surface suitable for a wide range of storage applications.
Are there any safety precautions?
Yes, for shelving bays with a height-to-depth ratio of 4:1 or greater, it is essential to floor-fix the unit to ensure stability and prevent tipping. This precaution is especially important in areas with high traffic or where the shelves are heavily loaded.
Can the shelving accommodate open access?
Yes, the shelving is designed without cross braces or gussets, allowing clear, unrestricted access to the front and sides of the shelves. This feature ensures easy loading and unloading of items, making it efficient for fast-paced environments.
Are there any sharp edges on the shelving?
No. All components are fully tooled with a smooth finish, ensuring there are no sharp edges that could damage goods or pose a risk to your workforce. This attention to detail ensures both safety and professionalism in your storage setup.
Our product advice
Unsure which product is best suited to your warehouse needs? Shop 'starter' bays (also known as 'initial' bays), to get you started on storage and handling. As your operation grows, you may then want to add to your storage solution by purchasing 'extension' bays which can be securely fixed to your starter bays to double the amount of space required.
This Toprax range also includes options with storage bins or large clear containers depending on your needs. Shop products TR2410SITC4B and TR2410SETC4B for starter and extension bays with blue TC4 shelf bins included. These are great options for small parts picking. With open front tops, the TC4 bins maximise picking efficiency, as small items can be easily identified thanks to the open, easy access. All bins are supplied with I.D. labels for organisation too.
Shop products TR3355SIPC and TR3355SEPC for starter and extension bays supplied with x15 24 Ltr. clear containers secured with lids. - Ideal for larger items that need to be clearly identified, and storage away without the need for frequent access.
