Shrink Wrap

Securely wrap every pallet or product with our range of shrink wrap and equipment

Equipping your workplace with shrink wrap supplies is a great way to protect your products with an extra layer of plastic material before they go into storage or transit. Shrink wrap is designed to keep dust and moisture away from your goods, while moulding to the contours of any awkward products or shapes. Designed to be puncture proof and made from a tough plastic material, shrink wrap clings to your items, which is ideal for stabilising them on pallets.
However, without heat, shrink wrap is ineffective. With our shrink wrap equipment, you can apply heat safely. Ergonomic and lightweight, our heat guns are designed to reduce user fatigue and saves you time when your shrink-wrapping products. Or, you can set up an industrial shrink wrap system like a shrink wrap machine for when you need to frequently apply shrink wrap to products.
What do I need?
Despite their similarities, shrink wrap is a different material to stretch film. Although they both cling to items, once you heat the shrink wrap, it tightens around the object, regardless of shape or complication. And when applied correctly, it provides a puncture proof layer that shields products from external contaminants. Look at our blog for more information on how shrink wrap works.
All you need to do is choose the right type of shrink wrap roll to suit your needs. A continuous roll offers more thorough coverage as you manually wrap around the item. For standardised palletised goods, a pallet cover can be easily applied to ensure maximum coverage. Or if you need something faster during busier periods, we also stock a perforated, easy-tear roll to speed up packing and storing times.
Once you’ve chosen the roll, you need to apply heat safely, which you do by utilising a specialist shrink wrap heater called a heat gun. As it’s absolutely crucial that the flames do not touch the shrink wrap, as it is extremely flammable. Shrink wrap equipment needs to be chosen according to your needs. If you’re frequently shrink-wrapping multiple pallets per day, then you should invest in a shrink wrap gun and trolley set for added mobility.
Can you recycle shrink wrap?
Recyclability is a major consideration for any eco-responsible workplace and shrink wrap can be the ideal choice. Provided your pallet shrink wrap hasn’t been tainted with adhesives or used for food produce, you can recycle it. Once used and removed, all you need to do is ball it up and dispose. Although most local authorities can recycle low-density polyethylene, make sure you double check. If they don’t, there will normally be other locations that can help.
