It’s getting to that time of year – Christmas is coming and with it comes the need to prepare a Christmas dinner.
But how many of us would think about getting Christmas dinner delivered in a box?
Well, one in five according to our survey. We conducted a survey of 500 UK residents to find out what their plan is for Christmas dinner. We asked them a series of questions and analysed the data from the results. We’ve included the results below but here are the biggest takeaways.
- One in Five people who responded were getting their Christmas dinner in a prepared meal box.
- The people who were ordering meal boxes were more likely to care about how recyclable their packaging was VS those who weren’t ordering boxes (86% of respondents VS 63%)
- Vegetarians were most likely to order a recipe box with 48% of vegetarian responders saying they had.
- Younger age brackets were more likely to use Recipe Boxes, only 1 in 4 never used meal boxes for those between 18 and 44, while the 45-59 bracket was 54% never used and for 60+ only 20% used boxes.
- The gender split was 50:50 across the main questions.

Survey Results
For those who answered [YES]
For those who answered [NO]
One thing that stood out to us was how much the public cared about the recyclability of their packaging. Those who were unconcerned about the recyclability of food packaging were a less than 10% minority. Furthermore, the group that felt it was extremely or very important made up 68% of total respondents. This doesn’t come as a huge surprise to us, of course, we’ve been working to provide sustainable packaging for a long time now and we’ve especially been working on our Chilled packaging range. From our new entirely paper based Climaliner to the TempGuard paper pads, we’ve been expanding and improving our range to offer the best solution possible to our customers.
